Testimonials:

“I have known Philipp Schmidt-Pathmann for many years as an expert on environmental issues. He has very detailed knowledge on waste management, both as experienced in US and Canada as well as in Europe. He has the capability to evaluate difficult technical and also economical situations and is open for new ideas. He finds very easily contacts with other people and has shown his skills in organizing meetings and study tours, bringing together experts from USA, Canada and Europe. He succeeded in arranging a network of experts from the US and Europe in regards to political, technical, economical and scientific questions specifically about waste management as well as the concepts for the protection of the environment and climate in general. He has also a fine feeling about weak points and possible conflicts of interest in arguments and statements of others. I appreciate his reliability and his always friendly character.”

Dr. Helmut Schnurer, -Deputy Director General at the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Protection and Nuclear Safety, head of the Directorate on Waste Management and Soil Protection, from 1985-2005

“Philipp has excellent knowledge in existing and future waste management practices and strategies. For that reason he always favours an integrated solution depending on the concrete situation. His aim is to realize always the best concept and his approach is strongly lead by the idea of sustainability. That makes him a perfect partner for economy and ecology.”

Dr. Michael Weltzin,  Senior Policy Advisor, Alliance 90 / The Greens in the German Bundestag

“Energy and knowledge that is what Philipp Schmidt-Pathmann brings to the discussion of waste.  Over the past few years, Philipp has demonstrated the wealth of his knowledge of waste conversion technologies throughout the Pacific Northwest.  He has lead and arranged technical tours, brought in world leading speakers and generally helped to inform the debate on turning waste into resources.

I have often used Philipp as a resource to assist me in understanding various issues.  He has also arranged meeting for me with experts when I have travelled to various European cities.  When I want answers, I look to Philipp.”

Marvin Hunt,  –Councillor, City of Surrey, Former Chair, Waste Committee, Metro Vancouver

“I have worked with Philipp Schmidt-Pathmann and have found him to be a very credible and expert source of information on waste issues, especially those related to advanced technologies for converting trash to energy, steam and other useful byproducts.  Philipp is especially effective as he has a deep passion for finding sustainable ways to reuse what most people consider to be waste.  He is an excellent spokesperson and is able to bring to life these technical and policy issues that are so important but so often overlooked.

My particular experience with Philipp involved exposing government and environmental leaders in California to state of the art waste conversion technologies.  These individuals, who were initially skeptical of any process that involved incineration, were intrigued by Philipp’s authoritative presentations.  Many were willing to join Philipp on international trips to visit state of the art waste conversion facilities and meet with technical and policy leaders in other countries about the potential for waste conversion as an alternative to landfills.  My view is that these leaders opened their minds to a new way of thinking about trash and waste and I would not be surprised if some may become proponents of replacing landfills with a waste to energy systems.”

Philipp is always well prepared and is able to present complex issues in an understandable, straightforward manner. His access to policy makers both US and foreign, give him an extra advantage, and his intimate knowledge of the European industry provides his audiences with the state of the art. I had the privilege of accompanying Philipp to Germany on a study mission, and was able in five days to meet with and learn from government and industry leaders, as well as to tour the most up-to-date facilities. I would recommend him highly.”
